Nothing gets me in the Christmas spirit more than wrapping presents. But that’s also one of the last things I do before Christmas. Right now, I’ve been making Christmas gift tags, stamping most of them with rubber stamps, coloring, glittering, etc. I try to make about 20 each of about 15 to 20 different designs. I make about 20 little bags of the tags with 15 to 20
different tags in each one. I’ve also hand painted a few and hope to put at least one into each bag of tags. These bags of tags are given as gifts and people seem very glad to get them. Here are some of the hand painted tags I did this year. Overall, these tags measure 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches, so the paintings are even smaller.
The sock, holly, and Christmas tree branch were done with acrylic. The snowman was done with watercolor.
Next, I need to get started making my Christmas cards and then it is on to making cookies! Anyone have a good recipe? No chocolate or coconut, please. I don’t like either one. Yeah, I know, I’m strange. :)
Michele – You’re a writer AND an artist? I’m impressed!
Yes, and lately, unfortunately, I’ve been more of an artist than a writer.
Your tags are gorgeous! When I get a special tag like that on a gift, I save it. I used to make my own tags out of cut up Christmas cards from the year prior, but it eventually got to be one more task in a list of too many and I had to let it go. They weren’t the kind of special yours are anyway.
Oh, I’m sure yours were very special, Jennette!
I enjoy my little hobby. A lot of my tags are rubber stamped and then embellished with color and glitter. But I think the people I give them to like them.
Michele, your artwork is delightful! I always want to do special cards, but I usually run out of time.
Me, too. I never get all the cards made that I plan to do. I keep telling myself to make them in January when there is less to do, but that never works!
